Dental Implant
Missing teeth can be replaced. The closest thing we have to putting a new tooth back in is a dental implant. This is a small titanium peg placed where the tooth was and a new porcelain tooth put on top of it.
More then one tooth can be placed on an implant or one can be used to stabilise a denture. We only use Straumann implants because we believe they are the most predictable and long lasting.
A denture is a simple way of restoring teeth but not everyone gets along with the idea of dentures. It's basically a plastic tooth on a metal or plastic plate that fits inside your mouth and needs to be removed and cleaned every day.
A bridge is like affixing a new porcelain tooth to a real tooth in front and/or behind it.
