Here are some quick tips for common dental emergencies, helping you manage your pain while you wait to see a dentist.
Ibuprofen is the best form of painkiller to take for a toothache, but if you’re unable to take this, use paracetamol as an alternative. Always follow the dosage directions on the packet. Applying a cold compress to your tooth can also alleviate any pain and swelling.
Take a painkiller if needed, avoid hot or cold foods and eat on the other side of your mouth if you can. You can also buy temporary filling material from a chemist or use sugar-free chewing gum as a temporary filler until you see your emergency dentist.
Take a painkiller if needed and avoid hot or cold foods. If you still have the crown, please bring this with you to your appointment.
Abscesses are infections that occur under the tooth and need urgent treatment to prevent them from spreading. Take a painkiller if needed and rinsing your mouth with warm salt water can also provide some relief.
If dental anxiety has kept you from getting the care you need, we’re here to help.
Fast, friendly and with expert care you can trust.
